Do You Need Business Headshots?
Yes! Now more than ever, people are more likely to visit your online profile before meeting you in person. Your headshots on LinkedIn or on your company’s website will convey your professionalism and personality before people even get to meet you in person. It’s important to showcase your professional self online, as the people that can be viewing your online profile can be potential clients or partners. A great headshot is key to ensure you leave the best, first impression with these people.
Where do I take Business Headshots?
Everyone has a different personality they embody and this personality is highlighted in the style of headshot you opt for. Business headshots range from outdoor headshots, indoor headshots in the building to showcase the office, and to studio headshots with a plain backdrop.
Our photographers will work with you to understand the personality you embody, the nature of your business, and may request a location from there. For example, if you’re in the environmental industry, Golden Gate Park would be an excellent location for a great headshot! Our rule of thumb is to stick to the location and style of photos you are comfortable with and are your industry standard.
If you’re choosing a studio headshot session, we would suggest backdrop color suggestions based on your industry. For businesses, such as finance, venture capital, and law firms, we recommend neutral background colors (e.g. black, dark gray, light gray, and white).
If your business has a more creative feel to it, we’d recommend colors that complement your creativity! In this instance, clients lean towards bright blue, yellow, green, etc. backdrop colors. At 415Headshots, all of our sessions include the option to change the background color at least once in your session. If you’re unsure about the background color to go with, a great default is a gray or white backdrop.
Wardrobes for Business Headshots
The wardrobe used for your business headshots vary for the sector you’re in. For example, if your business is in finance or law, we’d recommend a conservative attire, such as a blazer with trousers. If your business is an up and coming Silicon Valley start-up, you’d might lean to company-branded Patagonia jackets for your business headshots.
If you’re still unsure, we recommend to embody the standard look for the industry you’re in. For more information, feel free to ask our professional photographers for further insight.
You don’t have to stick to just one outfit for your headshot session at 415Headshots. All of our headshot packages contain the option to at least change your wardrobe once within a session. If you’re unsure about the wardrobe to go with, we’d recommend to bring a conservative look (e.g. blazers and trousers) along with the industry standard that is seen in your line of business.

How Much Are Business Headshots?
Headshot pricing varies by photographer and specifically where you’re located. In the San Francisco Bay Area, the average one hour headshot session can cost anywhere from $100 and up to $650+. The price differences in these sessions are based upon the amount of retouched photographs you’d like. These factors include purchasing the access to all photos taken in your session, the amount of time in the session, travel fees, and more.
In our studio, we like to give our clients the best of both worlds in terms of quality and pricing. With 415Headshots, we cater to your exact needs. If you don’t need a full hour headshot session, no worries!
